E. Blomberg, Figurative and Abstract Art
My interest in art is an essential part of me. As long as I remember, I've always grabbed a pen and just drawn. Nowadays, this hobby allows me to inhale peace and reaload my brain with pure energy.
Horses were the first thing I sketched when I was as young as 4 or 5 years old. At this young age I added already a personal touch on my art, reflecting my experienced reality: my horses were specially long, kind of equine chihuahuas.
While on my first year in elementary school, there was a drawing contest and my teacher asked if I wanted to participate. If I wanted! I remember one of my siblings standing outside the classroom, giving instructions: "Add more brown there... More brown!" It was such an experience to see so many people promoting and appreciating art. Since then I've continued drawing.
In January 1991, after completing high school I saw an add at the local newspaper about art classes at the Fine Arts Academy and I enrolled as art student with laureate Honduran painter Maria de Jesus Paz.
These were two of the most meaningful years in my intellectual personal development, thus it was then Ms. Paz introduced our class into figurative art. I was really amused to start experimenting with portraying all these dreamy pictures in my head into my weekly art exercises.
It has been a huge privilege to have had this extraordinary teacher and above all, the opportunity to study art at this significant time in my life. It defined my current attitude and relation to brushes.
